October
16th, 2006 –

The October
meeting of the SPF&GA was called to order at 7:12 pm by President Dan Bygd.
The Secretary’s and
Treasurer’s reports were read and approved as presented.
All bills have been paid, about 1/3 of the guns are yet to
purchase for Bucks night.
Reports for each
committee were given:
- The
land swap of 3 acres of property to allow for the placement of a viable
septic system is being finalized. Only one deed restriction on the swapped
land was left in place for the removal of invasive species. Bids for a driveway into the building
site will be let in the next few weeks.
- Bucks
night plans have been completed, to be held at Gibby’s Lanes on Monday
November 13. Old games that were
eliminated are the silent auction, wheel spin, tree stand raffle, and the
putting game. New raffles include
: Optic , River, Varmint, Other deer, Cap. !/3 of the guns will be purchased from
Sportsmans Warehouse in Minnesota, a discussion was held on the procedures
for registering these out of state guns, Jon Seeger to investigate. Attendance will be limited to 245
people, with preference given to previous attendees. Volunteers to work the raffles and
games were noted, Chairman Terry Zais will make work assignments for the
other raffles. The sponsor list
was reviewed and members given contact assignments, a letter will be sent
to the selected sponsors, asking for a suggested contribution of $250, or
whatever they feel appropriate.
Members needed for :
Setup at Gibby’s on Sunday,
November 12 at 5:00
Monday, November 13 at 12:00 noon for gun setup
All club members should be at
Gibby’s no later than 5:00
on Monday
Cleanup, Tuesday November 14.
10 Gun raffle bar guns should be
picked up, cleaned and boxed and brought to the next club meeting on Monday,
November 6.
- The
Handicap hunt was held on October 7th, 12 hunters
participated. 39 of the 150 birds
were brought home by the hunters.
Each hunter had the opportunity for 3 hunts with 3 birds each
hunt. There were 8 sponsors who
gave $125 each. A special thanks was given to Polfus and Polaris for use
of the vehicles, club thank you cards were circulated for signing to be
sent to the sponsors.
- Pheasants
were released for public hunting on Friday, November 13, no other
information was available.
- No
reports on Fisheries/Habitat, Outreach, Park Party, or Pontoon rides.
- Current
membership is 54 paid members.
Old Business:
1.
The new club caps will be delivered in four
colors ( blue, sand, wine, yellow) arriving on November 17th. Caps
will cost $4.25 per unit, 48 dozen caps will be received. The first 36 dozen order of caps are almost
gone, and lasted about a year and a half.
2.
1,000 Club cards were delivered to the meeting
by Don Demulling, they have the color club logo, contact info, and a space on
the back to write in member name and phone number. Members may pick them up and use as needed .
New Business:
- The
next regular meeting ( November 20 ) falls during deer hunting season, and
is also after Bucks night. A motion
was made and approved to move the next meeting to Monday, November 6.
- Brian
Headlee made a request for funds to support the deer carcass dumpster located
at the gate to the Willow River Rod & Gun club. A motion was made and approved to
donate $250 for the dumpster.
- All
beverage cans have been removed from the club storage unit, 12 packs of
pop were sold at the meeting for $2.00 each to reduce the inventory, which
is now at Don Madsen’s.
The next meeting of the SPF&GA is scheduled for Monday, November 6th
with the 6 pm social hour
and the 7 pm regular
meeting at Don Madsen’s on Cedar
Lake

business the meeting was adjourned at 9:05
pm.
