Star Prairie Fish & Game Association January Annual Meeting

January 15th, 2007 – Don Madsen’s on Cedar Lake

 

     The January Annual Meeting of the SPF&GA was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Dan Bygd.

     The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were read and approved as presented.

 

Election of Board of Directors and Officers

     Dan Bygd, Mike Kelly, Terry Zais and Jon Seeger were elected to the board of Directors each for a three year term.

Old Business:

 

  1. Thank you cards will continue to be signed at the monthly meetings and sent to individuals or groups that have contributed to our club in any number of ways
  2. Eric Mark reviewed the Phase 1-4 NAWCA Grants with the club agreeing to participate in the Phase 5 Grant process.
  3. President Dan Bygd updated the group on the Village of Star Prairie’s response to our letter concerning our responsibilities to the River Island Park upkeep. A written waiver of liability has not been received from the Village at this time as requested. Dan will follow up on this.

 

New Business:

  1. Budgets for 2007 were provided and reviewed to the actual and projected budgets for 2006.
  2. Following much discussion, a decision was made to discontinue the Disabled Hunt Committee and replace it with the Youth Outdoors Committee. Any disabled hunts considered at this time would be the responsibility of the Outreach Committee. The Youth Outdoors Committee would oversee all aspects of youth involvement in the outdoors.
  3. Members present signed up for the various committees while non-present members are urged to sign up at next months’ meeting. Letters to all members advising them of the committees may also be sent.
  4. The fish crib construction is scheduled to take place on January 27th. Several announcements have and will go out concerning this workday. Erv Erickson gave an overview of the pre-work day activities including CIP work and other volunteer tasks that need to be performed before January 27th. Holes will be drilled in the logs and brush will be moved to provide smooth construction of the cribs. Food and beverage will be provided by the club at Don Madsen’s on the 27th for the workers. Crib deposit sites will also be determined prior to construction.
  5. The Kinnickinnic Chapter of Pheasant Forever’s Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 24th while a Wisconsin Wildlife Federation’s Shooting Range Seminar will be held on Saturday, February 17th in Stevens Point.

 

 With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:20 pm.
