Star Prairie Fish & Game Association October Meeting

Monday, October 15, 2007 –Don Madsen’s on Cedar Lake

 

     The September meeting of the SPF&GA was called to order at 7:07 pm by Vice President Chuck Magoon

 

     The Secretary’s was tabled. The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

Committee Reports :

 

  1. Committee reports for  Senior Pontoon rides and Fisheries/Habitat: Kevin O’connell donated his time and backhoe to do some preliminary work on the driveway.

Next Friday there are 26 kids coming to do work on the Cedar Bay Landing. We will serve lunch at Don’s for everyone. We need volunteers to guide the kids. Stuart will explain the jobs after the meeting.

 

Fisheries: A price of $750 for 10 cords has been offered. A location to build and place the cribs has yet to be determined.

 

  1. Bucks Night : Next week the remaining 20 guns will be purchased. Letters to sponsors have been sent out, a follow up must be done by the assigned member. Craig & Chuck went over the sponsor list & who was supposed to follow up. The Trout Farm will have smoked trout, and Deer’s Locker will supply venison sausage, Ready Randy’s will supply the crackers for the h'dourves. All guns, tickets and money from bars must be turned back in by November 5th. Volunteers are being taken for jobs at Bucks Night, if you have not already volunteered for a job one will be assigned at the November 5th meeting. This year all workers will be fed at 4:45, this way we will all be done by the time the event starts.

 

 

Old Business/New Business:

 

1.    Jack Hayes gave an update on the north landing & the Cedar Lake School. It looks like there may be money available to purchase the property but nothing is certain as of yet.

2.    There was discussion about new projects. Several ideas were brought out. Nothing final was decided at this time.

3.    There was a discussion on starting up a DU Banquet. There will be a meeting (pre banquet) at Ready Randy’s to further discuss. There will be a $25 charge to attend this will include food and beer. Anyone who is interested should contact Stuart Nelson.

4.    There was a request for donation to help pay for the deer carcass dumpster at the Willow River Rod & Gun Club gate. Motion was made to donate $300 – Second and Passed.

 

 

         The next meeting of the SPF&GA is scheduled for Monday, November 5, with the 6 pm social hour and the 7 pm regular meeting at Don Madsen’s on Cedar Lake
